Something for kids at NERAM these holidays

School holidays are here again, and in winter it can be quite the challenge to find activities to brighten a child’s day.
Three different art workshops for kids will be at the New England Regional Art Museum on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10am to noon.
Bring artist’s smocks or old shirts, because the kids might get a bit messy creating their masterpieces! Armidale artist Jonathon Larsen will be encouraging the creative energy and teaching all three workshops.
On Tuesdays, July 6 and 13, get your hands dirty with ‘Hands on Printing’ for ages 8 and up. Kids will create colourful prints using recycled cut out foam packaging, leaves, rope and textiles.
On Wednesdays, July 7 and 14, make someone look beautiful in the ‘Paint a Portrait” workshop, for ages 5 and up. Create a portrait, self portrait or caricature using acrylic paint. Bring a photograph from home and wear suitable clothing!
On Thursdays, July 8 and 15, create Clay Sculptures, for ages 8 and up. We will be going outside to be inspired by NERAM’s outdoor sculptures, exploring textures and shapes.
Workshops are $15 each, which includes the materials.
To register please call 6772 5255.
Please bring children 5 or 10 minutes before the 10am start.
NERAM is open from Tues – Fri 10am to 5pm, Sat and Sun 10am to 4pm.
